About the position

The Instructional Designer at Colorado State University Pueblo plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of online learning experiences. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Adult Learning, this position involves collaborating with faculty to analyze instructional outcomes and apply instructional design techniques to develop and deliver effective online courses. The designer will also engage in professional development, regulatory compliance, and innovation in educational practices, ensuring that the university meets its mission of providing accessible and high-quality education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain LMS courses and online content.
  • Design and deliver professional development in online instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with faculty to convert courses into effective online formats.
  • Manage administrative functions related to online curriculum development.
  • Provide training and support to faculty on best practices in online course development.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements for online courses.
  • Assess educational innovations and implement necessary modifications.
  • Participate in university affairs to enhance program performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, online education, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of instructional design experience in developing online and instructor-led courses.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and enterprise information systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with eLearning technology platforms and learning management systems.
  • Experience in higher education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in instructional design or educational technology.
  • Quality Matters Certification.
