About the position

Modern Animal is seeking an Instructional Designer to enhance organizational learning and improve training initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the People Development & Engagement team to create engaging learning experiences that adhere to adult learning principles. The Instructional Designer will develop various training materials, ensuring consistency and accuracy while delivering content that drives measurable behavioral changes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize best practices in learning development to create effective learning solutions.
• Create and improve content structure for better learner retention.
• Develop innovative learning approaches incorporating industry trends.
• Ensure digital courses are accessible and inclusive for diverse learners.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create quality learning content.
• Manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
• Utilize instructional design methodologies to develop training materials.
• Conduct detailed needs analysis to determine instructional strategies.
• Design training evaluations and performance assessments.
• Support LMS administration and analyze learning effectiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in instructional design.
• Experience in veterinary or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Experience in corporate and field operations environments.
• Ability to design a variety of training materials for multiple purposes.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in creating digital, virtual, and instructor-led learning experiences.
• Direct experience with SCORM Files using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and SCORM management.
• Extensive knowledge of adult learning theory and online learning approaches.
• Advanced skills in Google Suite, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and Articulate platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Facilitation experience preferred.
• Experience in a small, start-up culture beneficial.
