About the position

The Instructional Designer will design and develop various learning experiences, including instructor-led, self-paced, and blended solutions, to support the organization's strategic training priorities. This role emphasizes creating impactful learning experiences that enhance employee skills and knowledge while integrating new technologies and methodologies into training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departmental subject matter experts to gather, develop, and validate content for learning applications.
  • Apply instructional design models and Adult Learning Theory to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Create instructional materials including courses, curricula, learner guides, instructor guides, job aids, and training manuals across multiple methods.
  • Update existing training content as needed.
  • Maintain Learning Management System (LMS) and related training records.
  • Responsible for testing, data management, and course assignments within the LMS.
  • Partner with Training Department Supervision to assess knowledge gaps and training needs and propose appropriate learning solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and task analyses with managers/leaders to identify learning objectives and performance goals.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs, including scheduling activities with department managers and internal training staff.
  • Facilitate training sessions as needed.
  • Support measurement and analysis of training solutions and recommend program improvements.
  • Keep current in industry/professional technologies to meet evolving training needs.
  • Coordinate and complete special work projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Technology, Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with Subject Matter Experts to define learning goals and objectives.
  • Experience with instructional/curriculum design, user experience design, or design thinking, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
  • Working knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and applications.
  • Experience creating, editing, and posting instructional videos.
  • Experience facilitating learning sessions in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with multimedia tools such as Camtasia or eLearning authoring tools like Articulate 360 is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office or similar.
