About the position

The Instructional Designer at Empire Today plays a crucial role in enhancing employee training and development through the design and implementation of effective learning solutions. This position involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create engaging eLearning courses and instructional materials that meet the needs of the organization. The Instructional Designer will manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure that all training content is accurate, clear, and aligned with established learning objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify required knowledge, skills, and competencies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify complex concepts and ensure accuracy of course content.
  • Design and develop creative learning solutions, including classroom training, eLearning, and blended learning.
  • Administer the LMS, including user management, course uploads, enrollments, and reporting.
  • Develop instructional strategies and design documents for learning interventions based on objectives and audience characteristics.
  • Write and edit storyboards, interactive scripts, and other learning documentation.
  • Create participant/facilitator guides and job aids.
  • Author eLearning and mobile learning using various authoring tools.
  • Ensure training material content is clear, accurate, and free of errors.
  • Manage multiple projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Conduct editorial reviews of training content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, instructional design, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience creating eLearning courses.
  • Experience with video recording and editing preferred.
  • Proven ability to partner with SMEs to create interactive eLearning courses.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and SCORM compliance.
  • Proven ability to write effective instructional text and scripts.
  • Strong visual design skills and ability to storyboard.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
  • Curiosity to learn new technologies and improve user experience.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graphic design software.
