About the position

With a focus on Mobility, Operational Excellence, Value to our Customers, and the Electrification of vehicles, the Instructional Designer at Nissan will play a crucial role in enhancing organizational effectiveness through training. This position is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating training programs tailored to the needs of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. The Instructional Designer will create comprehensive training solutions, including onboarding programs for new hires, skill enhancement courses, technical training, and management fundamentals. The role demands a strong level of project management skills to handle multiple projects with competing priorities effectively. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with team members and management to develop training content that meets specific learning objectives. Building strong partnerships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization is essential to ensure that the training materials are relevant and impactful. The position requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to integrate interactive concepts into both instructor-led and distance learning formats. The Instructional Designer will also be responsible for ensuring that all training deliverables are of high quality and completed within efficient timelines. In addition to course design, the Instructional Designer will perform needs analysis, suggest instructional approaches, estimate timelines and resources, and resolve issues creatively to meet organizational training needs. This role is pivotal in driving continuous education and learning within the organization, ultimately contributing to the overall success of Nissan's training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform needs analysis and suggest instructional approaches; estimate timeline and resources; design and develop courses; administer production, quality control, and implementations.
  • Design courses using adult learning principles and integrate interactive concepts and activities in both instructor-led and distance formats to encourage knowledge application, retention, and skill development.
  • Ensure training deliverables are developed with high quality and within efficient timelines.
  • Identify training requirements by conferring with the training team, managers, and employees.
  • Resolve issues to determine creative solutions and training methods based on organizational need.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) to eight (8) years of experience developing courseware and self-paced training.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Instructional Design/Training.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience using rapid development tools such as Articulate Studio, Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Experience in selecting and manipulating graphic images for use in learning materials using imaging and design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Snagit, or other tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PCRS, and other PC applications or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the auto finance or financial services industry preferred.
  • Certification in Adobe eLearning Suite or equivalent instructional design tool preferred.
