About the position

Salem State University is seeking two Instructional Designers to enhance teaching excellence and faculty development. The role involves collaboration with faculty and staff to develop programming, design courses across various modalities, and manage operational tasks related to program management. Responsibilities

  • Support the professional development of faculty.
  • Develop programming in collaboration with other departments.
  • Aid in the design and development of courses in various modalities.
  • Manage operational and administrative responsibilities related to program and project management.
  • Schedule workshops and other programming activities.
  • Publish the weekly CTI newsletter.
  • Develop new resources for faculty and staff.
  • Maintain the CTI main website.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience building courses with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with instructional design principles, instructional technology, or digital pedagogy.
  • Expertise in online learning and the use of Canvas templates or inclusive pedagogy and assessment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or certificate in instructional design.
  • Experience teaching at the college/university level.
  • Experience teaching online.
  • Experience providing professional development support for instructional technology, online teaching, or digital pedagogy.
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning, instructional design practices, assessment, and universal design for learning and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across units and ranks.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
