In addition to creating instructional materials, the Instructional Designer will research and provide recommendations for software purchases that align with the district's educational goals. This role serves as a crucial liaison between faculty, district staff, and external vendors, facilitating communication and collaboration on online learning initiatives. Continuous professional development is encouraged, and the Instructional Designer will participate in training that aligns with the district's needs. The position is full-time, with a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering a positive educational environment. The Instructional Designer is expected to attend work regularly and punctually, and may be required to telework as needed. This role is essential in supporting the district's mission to provide high-quality education and to adapt to the evolving landscape of instructional technology.

Responsibilities

  • Attend work in a regular, reliable, and punctual manner.
  • Telework when requested by the district.
  • Work individually with faculty to create online instructional materials.
  • Create training materials, written and video, for instructional software applications.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions with faculty.
  • Research and offer guidance for purchasing software directly related to instruction.
  • Act as a liaison between faculty and district staff and outside vendors for online learning matters.
  • Participate in continuous education training congruent with district needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Technology, Curriculum, Education, or similar field.
  • Combination of educational and work experience to meet the needs of the position.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • 2-5 years of experience working as an instructional designer or online/hybrid teacher with an educational institution, preferably in a K-12 school system.
