About the position

The Instructional Designer - II position is a contract role within the Learning & Development team at a company located in New York, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering impactful training programs that align with the company's priorities and values. This role requires creativity and experience in developing instructional materials and integrating emerging technologies to meet the evolving needs of the organization and its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize the learning experience using various learning formats and technologies.
  • Design and develop training programs and content that are optimized for scale, impact, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Utilize various learning modalities to upskill employees in foundational and advanced capabilities.
  • Create supplemental toolkits to reinforce and scale the impact of learning experiences.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to improve existing learning content.
  • Enhance instructional design strategies based on industry best practices and trends.
  • Support complex instructional design projects from conception through post-launch evaluation.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define learning objectives.
  • Manage multiple content design projects while maintaining high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in instructional design with a proven track record of creating effective learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with a portfolio showcasing innovative instructional design and technology integration.
  • Strong interest in emerging technology and its application within a learning environment.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Synthesia), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI).
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Passion for innovation and commitment to staying informed on advancements in AI technologies and training methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Synthesia (3 years preferred).
