Responsibilities

  • Assist a teacher in providing instruction and care to students with severe physical disabilities and cognitive delays.
  • Monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
  • Assist students with personal needs such as tube feeding, suctioning, toileting, diapering, positioning, and mobility.
  • Support the development of social skills in students.
  • Perform a variety of other instructional support duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification from an accredited organization.
  • Six months of job-related experience working with children, either paid or volunteer.
  • Classroom experience is preferred.
  • Associate's degree is a plus.
