Instructional Specialist (Early Childhood Teacher)

About the position

The Instructional Specialist (Early Childhood Teacher) at Holly Area Schools is responsible for planning, assessing, and providing instruction tailored to the individual needs of young children. This full-time position focuses on creating a positive and safe learning environment while implementing the HighScope curriculum. The role involves collaboration with staff and communication with parents to support children's development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, and provide instruction for students based on the individual needs of each child
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans in accordance with the education plan and HighScope curriculum
• Create a positive and safe learning environment
• Utilize engaging learning activities through daily lesson plans
• Provide age appropriate language and literacy activities
• Interact with children during gross motor activities
• Promote and model positive mental health activities
• Collaborate with Early Childhood staff
• Maintain necessary student records
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding children in program
• Conduct two home visits a year with parents
• Maintain strong parent volunteer program
• Participate in professional learning opportunities and trainings
• Attend parent meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZA or ZS endorsement
