About the position

The Instructional Support Technician III - Athletics at Merced College plays a crucial role in supporting the athletic department by providing game management, statistical support, and equipment handling. This part-time position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to assisting student-athletes and coaches, ensuring a successful athletic program. The role involves working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the athletics schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Order, receive, issue, and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Duplicate written materials.
  • Prepare classroom or laboratory setups.
  • Assemble demonstration materials.
  • Assist students on projects.
  • Perform clerical and recordkeeping functions.
  • Repair tools and/or equipment.
  • Keep instructional areas clean and orderly.
  • Train and oversee student assistants.
  • Fit student athletes with appropriate sports equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree AND at least one year of applicable experience OR
  • High School diploma OR GED AND four (4) years applicable experience OR
  • The equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
