About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer will be a key member of the CACI contract team supporting the U.S. Air Force's Air Education and Training Command. This role involves developing training products using systematic approaches and adult learning theories to create blended learning experiences that meet customer and project objectives. The designer will collaborate with various team members and subject matter experts to create effective training curricula.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods for developing online and blended training programs.
  • Utilize Instructional Systems Design (ISD) processes to create training materials.
  • Apply the ADDIE methodology throughout the course development lifecycle.
  • Develop learning content using authoring software such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and Lectora.
  • Synthesize source material into concise learning products and develop online learning strategies.
  • Convert training materials for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) using current technologies.
  • Ensure training content complies with SCORM® and Section 508 standards.
  • Test IMI packages through Alpha, Beta, and final SCORM testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology/Design or a closely related field.
  • 4 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Familiarity with USAF Learning Management System (LMS) and courseware development processes.
  • 3 years of experience in USAF MAJCOM and/or HQ Air Force staff officer roles.
  • Current SECRET U.S. Government security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GenAI tools for interactive multimedia instruction design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience as an in-residence or online instructor.
  • Understanding of competency-based assessment and learning.
