About the position

As an Instructional System Designer at Booz Allen, you will play a pivotal role in developing training programs that leverage technology to enhance the Department of Defense (DoD) Lifecycle Management Platform. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize your technical skills, creativity, and experience to collect, manage, and publish instructional material content. You will also recommend tool solutions that align with business needs, budget constraints, and content development requirements. This position offers the unique opportunity to build training programs from the ground up, both for internal and external audiences. In this role, you will be at the forefront of recommending cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies, including blended learning approaches, to create a successful learning environment. Collaborating closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and product designers, you will capture customer training needs and advise on the most effective learning solutions to help them achieve their mission. By placing the learner at the center of the training experience, you will design engaging training materials and performance support tools that cater to various learning modalities. To ensure the effectiveness of your training solutions, you will employ evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model to collect and analyze results, allowing you to fine-tune your training for maximum impact. Responsibilities

  • Develop training programs using technology to enhance the DoD Lifecycle Management Platform.
  • Collect, manage, and publish instructional material content.
  • Recommend tool solutions that align with business needs and budget.
  • Build internal and external training from the ground up.
  • Advise SMEs and product designers on effective learning solutions.
  • Design training materials and performance support tools with a learner-centered approach.
  • Utilize evaluation methodologies to assess training effectiveness and make improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with learning theory and instructional technologies.
  • Experience in authoring instructional materials and learning objectives.
  • Proficiency in creating high-quality, interactive learning solutions for various settings.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of new technologies related to computer networking and system enhancements.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring and evaluating learning technologies.
  • Knowledge of evaluation models, including Kirkpatrick.
  • Experience in consulting and change management.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Instructional Design, User Experience, or Human-Centered Design Certification.
