About the position

The Instructional System Designer will develop training programs using technology to enhance the Intelligence Community's training efforts. This role involves utilizing technical skills and creativity to create instructional materials, recommend tool solutions, and construct interactive courses that meet customer needs. The designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and product designers to capture training requirements and advise on effective learning solutions, ensuring a learner-centered approach to training design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training materials using technology to enhance Intelligence Community training.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and product designers to identify training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
  • Design interactive courses that teach critical tradecraft using multimedia technologies and blended learning strategies.
  • Utilize the ADDIE model to build training materials with curriculum developers and SMEs.
  • Collect and analyze training results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model to fine-tune training for maximum impact.
  • Create high-quality, interactive, and effective learning solutions for various settings including classroom and web-based environments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with learning theory and instructional technologies.
  • Experience in authoring instructional materials, learning objectives, and performance tests.
  • Proficiency in creating interactive learning solutions for classroom, web-based, or webinar settings.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Familiarity with eLearning development software such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
  • Strong technical editing, grammar, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of new technologies related to computer networking and system enhancements.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating learning technologies.
  • Knowledge of compliance with SCORM, xAPI, Section 508, and learning-related technology standards.
  • Familiarity with evaluation models, including Kirkpatrick.
  • Understanding of how instructional strategy integrates with change management.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certification in Instructional Design, User Experience, or Human-Centered Design.
  • IC Instructor Certification.
