About the position

DarkStar Intelligence is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Specialist to develop classroom-based course materials for complex subject matter, specifically to support a government client in Quantico, VA. This position requires a strong background in instructional design and the ability to create effective training materials that meet the needs of the client. The ISD Specialist will be responsible for applying their knowledge and experience in instructional systems design to develop a variety of instructional materials and methods. This includes training plans, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests and evaluation methods, and scenarios that are tailored to the specific training needs of the client. In this role, the ISD Specialist will assist in identifying and creating instructional materials that address performance shortfalls and training needs driven by field requirements. The specialist must be knowledgeable of and adhere to the standards set by the Council on Occupational Education, as well as the Department of Defense (DoD) instructional systems design methodology. Additionally, the ISD Specialist will support the documentation of courses, which includes creating course design documents, instructor and student guides, course syllabi, practical exercises, assessments, and other related materials. This position is critical in ensuring that the training provided is effective, engaging, and meets the high standards expected by the government client.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-classroom instructional materials and methods including training plans, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests, evaluation methods, and scenarios.
  • Identify and create instructional material to address field-driven performance shortfalls and client training needs.
  • Adhere to standards set by the Council on Occupational Education and DoD instructional systems design methodology.
  • Support course documentation including course design documents, instructor/facilitator and student guides, course syllabi, practical exercises, assessments, and related materials.

Requirements

  • Current Top Secret/SCI Government-Sponsored Clearance
  • Counterintelligence Polygraph Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, curriculum development, human resource development, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing classroom-based course materials for complex subject matters.
  • A certificate in instructional design with 7 years of experience developing classroom-based course materials is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Working understanding of DoD instructional systems design methodology.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
