About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer and Developer role focuses on creating innovative learning solutions to enhance military training. This position involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructors to identify training needs and develop effective, technology-based learning experiences. The designer will utilize the ADDIE model to craft engaging courses, leveraging multimedia tools and evaluation methodologies to ensure training effectiveness. This role also emphasizes leadership and mentoring opportunities within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop impactful learning solutions for adult learners in military or corporate environments.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and delivery teams to create training that meets defined goals.
  • Apply the ADDIE Instructional Design model and adult learning theory in course development.
  • Create e-learning content using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline with Level 2 interactivity and above.
  • Design engaging instructor-led training sessions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products to develop learning materials, including PowerPoint lessons and student handouts.
  • Storyboard or script highly interactive web- and mobile-based training.
  • Collect and analyze training results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model.
  • Mentor and lead team members in instructional design best practices.
  • Identify new opportunities to build solutions for customer learning needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing learning solutions for adult learners in military or corporate settings.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with SMEs and delivery teams.
  • Experience applying the ADDIE Instructional Design model and adult learning theory.
  • Experience developing e-learning with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline at Level 2 interactivity and above.
  • Experience developing engaging instructor-led training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for creating learning materials.
  • Ability to storyboard or script interactive web- and mobile-based training.
  • Ability to provide examples of previous learning solutions.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
