About the position

The NISC IV Training Group (NTG) within the Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to contribute to the development of eLearning products and services. This role involves a comprehensive approach to the review, evaluation, design, redesign, development, restructuring, and repackaging of training solutions tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. The ISD will play a crucial role in providing consultation and recommendations to customers regarding innovative training solutions, ensuring that curriculum development and delivery are both effective and relevant. In this position, you will be responsible for creating both asynchronous and synchronous instructional materials designed for a distributed learning environment. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with instructors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructional technologists, and multimedia developers to analyze, design, develop, and evaluate distributed learning solutions. Your creativity will be essential in developing storyboards, scripts, and scenario-based instruction, employing advanced learning strategies to cater to the specific needs of learners. Additionally, you will engage in the detailed development of course materials or courseware, which includes product testing and ongoing maintenance to ensure the highest quality of training solutions. This role is pivotal in shaping the learning experiences of users and requires a blend of technical skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of instructional design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Providing consultation and recommendations to customers on innovative training solutions and effective curriculum development.
  • Creating asynchronous and synchronous instruction designed for a distributed learning environment.
  • Collaborating with instructors, SMEs, instructional technologists, and multimedia developers to analyze, design, develop, and evaluate distributed learning solutions.
  • Creating storyboards, scripts, and scenario-based instruction to meet learner needs.
  • Performing detailed development of course materials or courseware, including product testing and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with up to 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellence in writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of customer-ready materials.
  • Experience in collecting, compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing learner/customer feedback and program evaluations.
  • Familiarity with all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability through the FAA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with online learning platforms and tools.
  • Experience designing and developing multimedia training solutions using Articulate Storyline that are 508 and SCORM compliant.
  • Experience with multimedia design architecture including Interactivity Levels 2 and 3.
  • Previous experience supporting FAA or other Federal Government agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills.
