About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer II is responsible for creating and implementing effective learning programs and materials to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of individuals within an organization. This role involves collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to identify training needs, develop instructional objectives, design curriculum, and select appropriate delivery methods. The position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and adherence to a drug-free workplace policy as a federal contractor.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops instructional approaches and/or strategies to meet training requirements.
• Assists with the analysis of training and media requirements.
• Researches and identifies data sources for instructional material development.
• Interacts with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to acquire supporting materials.
• Develops appropriate training objectives and test methods.
• Designs instructionally valid and engaging training materials for various delivery methods.
• Ensures integrity of task analysis, training requirements, and evaluation plans.
• Designs and develops computer-based training and other technology-based learning solutions.
• Develops flow diagrams and storyboards.
• Plans daily activities to maximize personal output.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field.
• Minimum of three years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience with developing courseware for Navy or other military organizations is highly desired.
• Extensive knowledge of creating and verifying Accessible content (508 Compliance).
• Skilled proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with web graphics standards and practices.
• Ability to work well with programmers and developers in an interactive development situation.
• Basic knowledge of proven training methods and techniques.
