About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) role involves supporting instructional systems design throughout the Product Lifecycle Process, utilizing the ADDIE methodology across all divisions of the organization. This position is based in Columbia, SC, and is set to commence in September 2024. The ISD will be responsible for developing and updating online, instructor-led, or instructor-facilitated courses, ensuring a collaborative learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support instructional systems design throughout the Product Lifecycle Process.
  • Apply the ADDIE methodology in course development.
  • Develop and update online instructor-led and instructor-facilitated courses.
  • Collaborate in a learning environment using platforms like Moodle and Blackboard.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Instructional Systems Design or Adult Education from an accredited university and at least five years of experience in Instructional Systems Design and course development, or a Bachelor's degree with at least eight years of experience.
  • Current Personnel (Security) Clearance/Eligibility (PCL) at the Secret level.
  • Experience applying the ADDIE methodology.
  • Experience developing and updating online instructor-led or instructor-facilitated courses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten or more years of experience in Instructional Systems Design and course development.
  • Experience leading instructional development projects.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies in security-related training or certification programs.
  • Experience with virtual content production on platforms like Adobe Connect, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
  • Successful completion of the DHS's Authoring Accessible Documents Program.
