About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer at SAIC is responsible for designing and developing instructional content for Interactive Multi-media Instruction. This role involves utilizing established instructional theories to create engaging and effective learning experiences, including storyboards, instructional video scripts, and assessments. The designer will work collaboratively with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and programmers to produce high-quality training materials that meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop storyboards and instructional video scripts for training content.
• Establish clearly defined learning outcomes and performance objectives.
• Design and implement asynchronous courses with up to level three interactivity using Articulate 360.
• Create comprehensive written tests that assess learners' knowledge related to job duties.
• Develop performance tests that require learners to perform tasks linked to learning objectives.
• Create interactive knowledge checks embedded in lessons.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to develop training scenarios and data sets.
• Interface with stakeholders to manage objectives and facilitate course development.
• Modify learning products including presentation slides, guides, and instructional videos.
• Use course evaluation data to measure outcomes and improve training programs.
• Develop multiple instructional products simultaneously.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, English, education, computer science, information systems, or related fields.
• Ten or more years of relevant experience in instructional design or related fields.
• Experience with FAA Safety and Technical Training (AJI) requirements is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with multimedia e-learning industry standards.
• Familiarity with Articulate 360 software.
