About the position

SAIC is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) program. The Instructional Systems Designer will play a crucial role in designing, maintaining, and developing both on-ground and web-based instructional materials that are essential for effective course delivery. This position requires a comprehensive analysis of training needs, development of course content, and ongoing maintenance of instructional materials to ensure quality and relevance. The ISD will utilize various technologies, including computer support, video technology, and distance learning tools, to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The role demands a strong understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to integrate state-of-the-art technologies into course and media design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop instructional materials for both on-ground and web-based courses.
  • Analyze training needs to inform course development and maintenance.
  • Conduct quality checks on course materials to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Utilize computer support and video technology in course design.
  • Implement distance learning strategies and technologies in instructional design.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create relevant and engaging content.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in instructional system design or an equivalent degree field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional systems design.
  • College curricula must include work in instructional systems design, learning theory, instructional methods, statistics, research methodology, tests and measurement, cognitive or educational psychology, and educational evaluation.
  • Experience with e-learning design and training development.
  • Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video technology.
  • Experience with eLearning course development using Articulate Storyline is preferred.
