About the position

As an Instructional Systems Designer at Guidehouse, you will leverage a broad and varied skill set to enhance the development and delivery of training programs. Your role will involve applying your expert knowledge of instructional design models and theories, particularly in adult learning, to create effective eLearning solutions and training plans. You will be responsible for evaluating existing training programs and implementing blended learning strategies, ensuring that all training materials meet high-quality standards. Your experience in quality assurance and design control will be crucial in helping the team work efficiently and effectively. In this individual contributor role, you will support project leadership as needed, showcasing your ability to pivot and adapt in a fast-paced environment. You will create and present professional-level materials, demonstrating your commitment to producing quality results. Your responsibilities will include developing high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance learning, and instructor-led training, while also ensuring compliance with 508 accessibility standards. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing your strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Your ability to communicate effectively with all levels of project teams will be essential, as will your proficiency in various eLearning software tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, and Camtasia. Overall, your role will be pivotal in shaping the instructional design landscape at Guidehouse, contributing to the success of training initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Apply instructional design models and theories to develop effective training programs.
  • Evaluate existing training programs and implement blended learning strategies.
  • Create eLearning solutions and training plans that meet high-quality standards.
  • Utilize quality assurance and design control methods to enhance team efficiency.
  • Develop high-quality courses using web-based training, distance learning, and instructor-led training.
  • Create and present professional-level materials for training purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with 508 accessibility standards in all training materials.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams at all levels.

Requirements

  • Active and current Top Secret/SCI federal security clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph; must upgrade to Full Scope (FS) polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in eLearning, Communications, or related field; four (4) years' relevant experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • Ten (10) or more years' experience developing high-quality courses using a combination of web-based training, distance-learning, and instructor-led training.
  • Familiarity with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, PowerPoint, SnagIt, and the Microsoft suite of office software.
  • Deep knowledge of learning design principles and writing for training purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with project teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Above average writing skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design methods and courseware development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant area.
  • Knowledge of or experience working in the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense.
  • Experience working in the consulting industry.
  • Experience with ERP/HRIS systems.
  • Experience with incorporating change management in training approach.
  • Experience with proposing, designing, and developing curriculum maps and training materials.
