About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer at Guidehouse is responsible for developing high-quality training programs and materials using various instructional design models and theories. This role requires expertise in adult learning principles, proficiency in eLearning and instructor-led training modalities, and the ability to evaluate and improve existing training programs. The designer will work independently to create engaging content and support project leadership as needed, ensuring that training assets meet quality standards and effectively address the needs of adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality courses using web-based training, distance-learning, and instructor-led training.
  • Evaluate existing training programs and blended learning strategies.
  • Apply quality assurance and design control methods to training materials.
  • Create and present professional-level training materials.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced work environment and pivot as necessary.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI federal security clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph; must upgrade to Full Scope (FS) polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in eLearning, Communications, or related field; or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ten or more years of experience developing high-quality courses.
  • Familiarity with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, PowerPoint, and SnagIt.
  • Deep knowledge of learning design principles and writing for training purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Above average writing skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design models like ADDIE and SAM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant area.
  • Experience working in the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense.
  • Experience in the consulting industry.
  • Experience with ERP/HRIS systems.
  • Experience with change management in training approaches.
  • Experience in developing curriculum maps, templates, and training materials.
