About the position

The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) at Metris Global is responsible for providing instructional design and development support tailored to client-specific requirements and standard operating procedures. This role involves creating design documents, preparing storyboards, selecting delivery methods, and conducting evaluations to ensure effective training solutions. The ISD will work both independently and collaboratively to oversee projects, ensuring compliance with Coast Guard Training System standards and contributing to the mission of training personnel effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design documents in accordance with USCG SOPs and other requirements specified in the task order.
  • Prepare storyboards and outlines for content development as per USCG SOPs.
  • Select appropriate delivery methods and media to support human performance development and competency testing.
  • Prepare and structure tests and practical application exercises to assess learning outcomes.
  • Perform formative and summative evaluations, including pilot studies.
  • Revise training materials based on feedback from reviews and pilot testing data.
  • Develop plans for piloting training experiences under task orders.
  • Create reports of pilot studies to finalize training products.
  • Participate in reviews and ensure compliance with USCG TRASYS SOPs and standards.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork with government and contract team members.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Instructional Systems, Instructional Systems Technology, Instructional & Performance Technology, or Education (with a concentration in Educational Technology) preferred.
  • Five years' documented experience in a related field may substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Minimum of two years' experience using the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process in course and training intervention development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer graphics programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with government training systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with physical requirements related to training environments.
