About the position

Edgesource Corporation is seeking a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Instructional Designer to assist our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customer in the development of cybersecurity courses. The SME must be well-versed in a variety of cybersecurity topics and issues, as well as knowledgeable about emerging technologies, threats, and vulnerabilities. The primary responsibility of the SME will be to develop both synchronous and asynchronous training materials utilizing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) process. This role will also involve supporting the operation and maintenance (O&M) of existing courses and assisting in the conversion of course materials for online learning. This includes collaborating with technical experts to support a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) / Learning Management System (LMS) and Cyber Range for online skills training. The SME must demonstrate flexibility in developing a wide range of courses, which can vary from one-hour seminars to multi-day training courses. The position requires a proactive approach to instructional design, ensuring that all training materials are engaging, effective, and aligned with the latest cybersecurity standards and practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of instructional design principles and be able to adapt content for various learning modalities, ensuring that all learners can achieve their training objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop synchronous and asynchronous training materials utilizing the ADDIE process.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of existing courses.
  • Assist in the conversion of course materials for online learning.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to support a VLE / LMS and Cyber Range for online skills training.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in developing a range of courses from one-hour seminars to multi-day training courses.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in instructional design or cybersecurity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Learning and Development, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is desired.
  • Ability to work some live instruction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with the ADDIE method.
