About the position

The Instructor, Chemistry position at Nashville State Community College is responsible for delivering quality chemistry instruction in an equitable environment. This role involves teaching various chemistry courses through different delivery modes and ensuring a consistent and equitable student experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach chemistry courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned.
• Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences.
• Utilize the College's learning management system to provide course materials to students.
• Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
• Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox.
• Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
• Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
• Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.
• Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences.
• Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
• Work with students as academic advisor as assigned.
• Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemistry (OR) Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.
