About the position
The Instructor for the Data Analytics Certificate program at Western Governors University (WGU) is responsible for developing instructional materials and delivering engaging virtual instruction to students. This role focuses on supporting student learning through one-to-one coaching and facilitating peer collaboration in a virtual environment. The instructor will leverage their subject-matter expertise in SQL, Data Management, and programming languages like Python and R to enhance the educational experience and help students achieve their academic and career goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop instructional materials aligned with learning objectives and course competencies.
- Provide effective and engaging one-to-many virtual events.
- Participate in faculty learning communities for professional development.
- Deliver proactive one-to-one virtual instruction to students.
- Facilitate student communities to support collaboration and development.
- Provide effective one-to-one virtual coaching to help students achieve their goals.
- Adapt instructional practices to meet common student needs.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a related field and all applicable licenses or certifications.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience, including 1 year of teaching online.
- Experience programming or teaching SQL and Data Management.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in assigned content or practice area.

- Strong experience with distance education and distance learning students.
