About the position

The Classroom Instructor & Course Developer position at Fort Eisenhower, Augusta, GA, involves delivering training programs on Data Engineering for the US Army. This hands-on teaching role requires the development and delivery of course materials, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and industry standards. The instructor will work closely with a team of professionals to enhance the quality of training and support the professional development of students in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom education on Data Engineering to support ongoing professional development.
  • Develop training material and assist with validation of training materials.
  • Implement training material as certified classroom instruction and maintain it for Signal School courses.
  • Create data science and zero-trust cybersecurity training support packages through lesson plans and practical exercises.
  • Write lesson plans for training support material aligned with course design and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in validating learning products to ensure they meet intended learning outcomes.
  • Make recommendations to enhance the quality and relevancy of learning products.
  • Develop assessments (labs, quizzes, tests) to evaluate student understanding of training material.
  • Maintain and update training support packages in response to industry developments.
  • Administer tests and student assessments, recording results in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Instruct various field-related courses and evaluate student performances using approved instructional methodologies.
  • Report academic concerns to the Course Manager and maintain discipline in the training environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least one certification such as AWS Big Data-Specialty, MS Azure Data Engineer (Associate), or CompTIA Data+.
  • Current Common Faculty Developer-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of starting.
  • Minimum of 3 years' operational experience in Data Engineering/Data Management.
  • Experience designing and delivering Data Engineering and Data Management classes in a classroom setting.
  • Familiarity with developing classroom-ready training materials and utilizing Learning Management Systems.
