About the position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor at HealthPro EMS is responsible for delivering quality educational programs to students, focusing on developing both technical and soft skills necessary for entry-level positions in emergency medical services. The role involves teaching group sessions, conducting skills practice, and proctoring exams, while collaborating with the Program Director and Faculty to ensure effective instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EMT instruction through group sessions and skills practice.
• Conduct scenario-based patient management drills and proctor exams.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
• Enforce classroom management policies and processes.
• Communicate with the Director of Education regarding students at risk.
• Develop and implement engaging classroom activities and teaching methods.
• Participate in faculty meetings and in-service trainings.
• Maintain professional competencies through ongoing training and development.

Requirements

• CA EMT certification or Paramedic license.
• Minimum of one year of EMS work experience in the field.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts.

Nice-to-haves

• Current AHA BLS Instructor certification (can be obtained after hire).
• Experience working with students in a classroom setting.
• Instructor certification of any kind.
• Experience with diverse learning styles.
