About The Position

The Hotchkiss School is seeking a full-time Spanish Instructor for the 2025-26 academic year. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and dynamic educator with a strong background in the Spanish language, literature, and cultures, as well as effective foreign language teaching methodologies. This role involves teaching various levels of Spanish and contributing to the school community through co-curricular activities and student support.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.
• At least three years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level.
• Strong skills in discussion facilitation and professional communication.
• Commitment to collaborative work with colleagues and improving teaching practices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in coaching varsity-level girls' basketball or volleyball.

Responsibilities

• Teach four classes of Spanish at various levels.
• Coach two seasons of a co-curricular team or equivalent.
• Participate in the residential program duties.
• Engage in faculty committees or serve as an advisor to student clubs.
• Obtain a public service endorsement on CT driver's license within the first year to drive students in school vehicles.
