About the position

The Instructor for Information Technologies will facilitate learning in a bachelor of technology degree program, focusing on areas such as computer networking, cyber security, digital forensics, and information assurance. This role involves both on-campus and distance-delivery strategies, requiring the instructor to maintain accurate student records, develop course materials, and engage in various academic and community activities to enhance student learning and recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning for a bachelor of technology degree program in IT-related disciplines.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide them to administration when appropriate.
  • Develop and update course materials and curriculum in collaboration with faculty and advisory committee representatives.
  • Assume daily responsibility for the housekeeping and maintenance of classrooms and laboratories.
  • Provide tours for prospective students, parents, and other campus visitors.
  • Attend and participate in special events such as graduation and student activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date course outlines, objectives, assignments, and tests.
  • Serve on appropriate curriculum committees.
  • Participate in student persistence efforts and recruitment strategies.
  • Represent the School and University in professional and community organizations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of evidenced industry experience.
  • Teaching experience in Higher Education preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with various constituencies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and fulfill complex initiatives.
  • Computer skills including electronic communications and word processing.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work and professional responsibility.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to recognize and resolve complex problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license if required to use a vehicle.
