About the position
Montana Technological University is pleased to announce an opening for an Instructor in Statistics and Mathematics. This position is a tenure-track instructor position in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, which offers undergraduate majors in Mathematics and Data Science. The normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester, primarily focusing on introductory courses in statistics and mathematics. The instructor will also administer summer bridge programs in mathematics for incoming students. Additional responsibilities may include curriculum design, coordination of service courses, and student success efforts.
Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credits per semester of introductory statistics and/or mathematics courses.
- Teach summer bridge programs for incoming students.
- Engage in curriculum design and coordination of service courses.
- Participate in student success efforts.
Requirements
- Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, or related discipline.
- At least 9 credits of graduate level mathematics and/or statistics coursework.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous teaching experience in college level mathematics and/or statistics.
- Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses.
- Evidence of effective teaching.
- Previous experience with corequisite remediation, summer bridge programs, or other similar student success efforts.
