About the position

The University of Pennsylvania's Department of Radiology is seeking an Instructor of Radiology - Physics to develop a research program focused on quantitative image analysis, particularly in PET imaging. This position is designed for professional training to cultivate independent researchers, with opportunities for collaboration and mentorship in grant writing and research methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a research program for quantitative image analysis focused on PET imaging.
  • Collaborate with a team of investigators on quantitative imaging for clinical and research investigations.
  • Evaluate methods to improve acquisition and data modeling approaches for various applications and radiotracers.
  • Oversee the Quantitative Imaging Analysis Laboratory for PET analysis.
  • Train new investigators in the use of image analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in nuclear medicine imaging, particularly PET-CT instruments.
  • Experience with kinetic modeling methods for various applications in brain and body.
  • Proficiency in image processing and analysis tools such as PMOD and MIM.
  • Experience with software modeling tools like PMOD and MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition, data corrections, and image reconstruction methods in PET.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing independent research programs.
  • Familiarity with dynamic imaging protocols and kinetic modeling of 4D images.
