About the position

The Paralegal position at SUNY Erie Community College involves teaching department courses, evaluating student performance, and preparing lessons and activities in accordance with departmental guidelines. Faculty members are responsible for maintaining accurate student records and contributing to a collaborative and inclusive college environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach department courses and evaluate student performance according to departmental guidelines.
• Prepare course syllabi and learning materials that engage students.
• Align learning activities with departmental course outcomes.
• Assist students as a faculty advisor and hold office hours.
• Provide tutorial help to students and respond to their inquiries.
• Serve on departmental, unit, and college committees.
• Maintain accurate records on students and submit data to the department and/or the College.
• Contribute to and maintain an inclusive and collaborative College environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in the Academic Discipline or a closely related field.
• 30 hours of advanced study in area of specialization or a Master's Degree.
• Professional certificate and satisfactory evaluation of professional responsibilities.
• Journeyman status in the profession with satisfactory evaluation.

Nice-to-haves
