About the position
The Instructor for the DoD STARBASE Idaho Program is responsible for delivering engaging and hands-on instruction in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to 5th grade students. This role involves managing classroom activities, developing lesson plans, and providing support to students while fostering a positive learning environment. The instructor will also collaborate with military personnel and community members to enhance the educational experience and promote continuous improvement within the program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver DoD STARBASE lessons and conduct educational activities in accordance with DoD instructions.
- Manage instruction for the DoD STARBASE Idaho Program, including executing lessons and modifying materials as necessary.
- Organize and prepare daily lesson plans and maintain records of student progress.
- Promote program improvement and engage in professional development activities.
- Provide day-to-day operational support to the program Director and staff.
- Supervise the Instructor Assistant and manage classroom activities effectively.
- Support the Program Director in achieving the DoD STARBASE Idaho mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Current Idaho Educator Certification.
- Current Idaho CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Valid and unrestricted state issued driver's license.
- 36 months of specialized experience related to the duties specified.
- Knowledge of STEM curriculum and effective instructional practices.
- Ability to create an effective learning environment and manage classroom dynamics.
