About the position

The Contract Instructor at WorkFaith Connection plays a crucial role in providing faith-based training and coaching to individuals seeking long-term employment. This position involves delivering engaging instruction in various job search strategies and maintaining a supportive learning environment. The instructor will work both in-person and virtually, adapting to the needs of clients and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction in assigned courses such as job search strategies, resume writing, and interview skills.
  • Adhere to the provided curriculum while maintaining the integrity of course content.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions with clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Report any concerns or issues to leadership during training sessions.
  • Notify leadership of any planned time off or scheduling conflicts at least 2-4 weeks in advance.
  • Commit to scheduled training assignments and ensure consistent attendance.
  • Stay updated on changes to course material and integrate them into instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients.
  • Respect the privacy of clients, staff, and volunteers by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist in securing and adequately using WorkFaith's programs, equipment, and materials.
  • Administer exit surveys to gather feedback from participants at the end of each course.
  • Provide attendance and demographic data for each training session to leadership.
  • Travel to various on-site locations to deliver in-person training as scheduled.
  • Ensure reliable internet access and proficiency in virtual platforms for online training.
  • Adapt to variable work conditions based on the nature of each assignment.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in instruction, training, counseling, or related social services fields is strongly preferred.
  • A college degree is preferred, but experience may be substituted for education.
  • Proficient in active listening, written communication, public speaking, and building trust.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); intermediate Information Systems experience preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities when engaging with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines professionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in faith-based training or coaching is a plus.
  • Familiarity with job market trends and interview techniques.
