About The Position

The Instrument and Electrical Technician at Austin Industrial is responsible for testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, overhauling, and repairing electrical systems and instrumentation devices. Requirements

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience in Instrumentation and Electrical work.
• Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, and testing specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair electrical systems and instrumentation devices.
• Plan, layout, and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and loop drawings; prepare job reports.
• Test, calibrate, install, and inspect instrumentation devices, including transmitters, valves, and analytical instruments.
• Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures and interpret various procedures.
• Troubleshoot and check out electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
• Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and their components.
• Perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical control systems, including MCCs, transformers, switchgear, and motors.
