About the position

The Instrument & Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, repair, and modification of all plant electrical, instrument, and control systems. This role requires a high level of skill and adherence to safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and revising Instrument drawings throughout the design and MOC processes
  • Assembling Instrument design packages for construction purposes
  • Providing design assistance throughout all phases of projects
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment
  • Adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and equipment manuals

Requirements

  • High-school education or GED with a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated high-level experience and skill for the E&I Tech/Mechanic craft
  • Experience with Pressure, Flow, Level, and Temperature instruments and transmitters, 480V Electrical Motors, automated valves, PLC control systems, Burner Control systems, Air Compressors, Belt-driven Equipment, Rotary Valves
  • Ability to perform complex system repair/troubleshooting using limited information
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and logic drawings
  • Understanding of theory, operation, and troubleshooting of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Ability to perform job setup including required materials and tools
  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting and direct lower classifications as needed
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on failed equipment
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and associated software systems
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
