Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing electrical maintenance and upkeep of all plant equipment and processes.
  • Familiar with cement process flow and equipment functions.
  • Follow electrical, mechanical and plant safety rules.
  • Use the storeroom system to locate spare parts and input work requests in the CMMS.
  • Operate plant mobile equipment.
  • Troubleshoot motors, transformers, electrical drives, starters, breakers, disconnects, electrical interlocks, temperature and pressure transmitters and similar devices.
  • Familiar with instrumentation and electronic circuits.
  • Familiar with PLC and PC programs and computer hardware.
  • Read blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Select and use proper tools and measuring devices.
  • Use cutting torch.
  • Familiar with safe rigging techniques.
  • Understand plant power distribution and AC/DC circuits.
  • Change out motors, fuses, electrical/mechanical valves, thermocouples, transducers and similar electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Perform coupling alignments.
  • Understand air pollution control device operation and perform normal maintenance.
  • Familiar with different lubrications requirements of plant equipment.
  • Perform any other activities requested by the Supervisor that is consistent with this job classification.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
