About the position

The position involves providing instrumentation and control engineering as part of multidisciplinary teams for various industrial projects, including processing facilities, power plants, and mining facilities. The role focuses on integrating mechanical, electrical, and control requirements into comprehensive systems, with responsibilities spanning design, analysis, and field installation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrumentation and control engineering for industrial processing, fuels, power plants, and mining facilities.
  • Integrate process, mechanical, electrical, and control requirements into comprehensive systems.
  • Prepare plans and specifications, conduct conceptual studies, and perform cost estimating.
  • Develop process and instrumentation diagrams, control valve sizing, and instrument selection.
  • Create instrument data sheets, installation details, logic descriptions, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct control system integration using distributed control systems or programmable logic controllers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering with a focus on process control systems.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience in a design capacity at a consulting engineering or industrial organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy environment and adapt to client needs.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes such as power plants, natural gas compressor stations, and mining.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills.
  • Strong client-relationship and business-development skills.
