About the position

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will be a key member of multidisciplinary teams, focusing on projects for industrial processing facilities, fuels facilities, power plants, and mining facilities. The role involves integrating various engineering disciplines to create comprehensive systems, with responsibilities spanning design, analysis, and field installation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrumentation and control engineering for various industrial projects.
  • Integrate process, mechanical, electrical, and control requirements into comprehensive systems.
  • Develop process and instrumentation diagrams, control valve sizing, and instrument selection.
  • Prepare plans and specifications, including instrument data sheets and installation details.
  • Conduct conceptual studies and cost estimating for projects.
  • Perform control system integration using distributed control systems or programmable logic controllers.
  • Create schematic and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering with a focus on process control systems.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience in a design capacity at a consulting engineering or industrial organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-energy environment.
  • Flexibility to modify personal schedule to meet deadlines and client needs.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes such as power plants and mining.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Demonstrated project organization and management skills.
  • Strong client-relationship and business-development skills.
