About the position

Ardurra is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to work on projects related to water and wastewater treatment plants. The role involves applying standard design engineering techniques to independently perform various assignments, requiring the evaluation and selection of design procedures and criteria. The engineer will be responsible for developing control systems, preparing technical specifications, and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and control system architecture.
  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies, including the design of control loops, alarms, and interlocks.
  • Prepare technical specifications for review and approval.
  • Specify and select instrumentation and control devices for process measurement and control.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers.
  • Evaluate vendors' bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Perform field tests & measurements and collect field data as necessary.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 0-3 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering).
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and desire to learn Plant 3D.
  • In the process to obtain Professional Engineer's (PE) license.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Familiarity with control system architecture and design.
