The Instrumentation and Electrical Project Engineer position is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a specialty chemicals manufacturing client located in the South Houston area, just outside the Beltway. This role is crucial as it supports the Capital Expenditure (Capex) team across multiple sites in Houston and the Southeast USA. The successful candidate will report directly to the Capital Projects Manager and will be responsible for providing Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering expertise throughout the full life cycle of various projects. This includes creating construction packages and deliverables such as one-lines, loop diagrams, and motor schematics. The role requires a strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve Electrical and Instrumentation issues as they arise during project execution. The position demands approximately 40 percent travel, indicating that the engineer will need to visit different project sites to ensure effective project management and execution. The client is open to working with and training less experienced engineers, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to grow their skills in a supportive environment. The work hours are set from 8 AM to 4 PM, providing a structured workday for the engineer.
