About the position

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician role in Waynesburg, PA, focuses on supporting the oil and gas industry by ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical systems. The technician will work with various voltage systems, primarily 12 to 24 VDC, and will be responsible for adhering to safety standards while executing field projects related to instrumentation, controls, and electrical power.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain 12 to 24 VDC instrumentation systems in the oil and gas industry.
  • Troubleshoot and implement fit-for-purpose instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and process-related documentation, including isometric drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices on construction sites.
  • Develop engineering solutions with a focus on process, personal, and environmental safety.
  • Scope and execute projects related to instrumentation, controls, and electrical power.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working with 12 to 24 VDC instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, SCADA, instrumentation, and communication systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conduit, cable tray installations, and hazardous locations.
  • Experience with heat trace, instrumentation tubing, and basic 480 volt troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret various documentation and drawings for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and Hart.
  • Experience in construction site safety and electrical safety practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Electrical Journeyman/Masters certification (not required but preferred).
  • OSHA 10 or Safeland equivalent certification.
  • Arc flash training.
  • Manlift/forklift training.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
