Burgess & Niple is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our team, with the opportunity to work from any of our office locations in Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, Painesville, OH, Parkersburg, WV, or Norfolk, VA. This position is ideal for individuals who value collaboration and employee input within an A/E firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying best practices in SCADA design and implementation specifically within the Water/Wastewater Industry. This role involves traveling to client facilities to engage in field activities, assessing and documenting the current state of installed control systems, and coordinating with both internal design staff and client personnel to ensure the provision of appropriate control systems design. In addition to design responsibilities, the Instrumentation & Control Engineer will be tasked with the selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment. The role also includes developing biddable and technically accurate SCADA/I&C construction documents, which encompass P&IDs, network architecture diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, installation details, loop drawings, and technical specifications. Furthermore, the engineer will develop PLC programs and HMI applications, as well as support system testing and commissioning activities. This position requires a strong commitment to quality and adherence to industry standards, particularly the National Electrical Code.
