This position is located at (VSFB) Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.
This position is not eligible for telecommuting.
Essential Functions
* Controls Western Range (WR) telemetry, metric radar, Command Destruct Transmitters, and other assets in support of daily tasking, pre-launch tests, and aeronautical testing
* Supports WR launch operations in the AF certified Surface Air Surveillance position as an Ocean Surveillance System operator
* Analyze documentation
* Plan and support day-to-day operations
* Train and mentor new hires
* Plan, develop, and draft training procedures for respective position
* Coordinates and controls WR instrumentation elements in support of range day-to-day activities
* Interfaces with user and range instrumentation personnel to conduct tests
* Interfaces with Space Force and other government representatives to meet test requirements
* Provides assistance in resolving conflicts between support elements and range resources
* Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and co-workers
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Required Experience
* Associates degree or two-year certificate from college or technical school and/or analytical field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience or related military experience
* Three years of Western Range technical experience. Knowledge of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) systems and launch operations preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
* The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
* Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
* Valid U.S. Driver's License

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $37.06 to $46.24. RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
