About the position
The Instrumentation & Controls EIT/Coordinator position at HDR involves engineering tasks of varying complexity, supporting project engineers and managers in the design and implementation of power distribution and control systems. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on smaller tasks while assisting on larger projects. The position also includes responsibilities such as verifying code compliance, performing engineering calculations, and participating in field reviews.
Responsibilities
- Check manufacturer's drawings and perform engineering calculations.
- Work on design layouts, verifying code compliance and quality checks.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Engage in design work related to power distribution, motor control, lighting, and power system analysis.
- Supervise designers and CAD operators as required based on project size.
- Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware, and/or Interlution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- EIT certification strongly preferred; candidates without it will be titled 'Coordinator' and expected to obtain it for career progression.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- 3.0+ GPA.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
