About the position

The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer role is a junior level position within the Engineering & Development Services group at Black & Veatch. This position is designed for a qualified engineering professional interested in working on projects across various sectors such as power generation, renewables, water treatment, oil and gas, and security. The role involves applying basic engineering principles under supervision to complete project assignments and contribute to engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Function in an engineer capacity under supervision.
  • Apply department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), reports, engineering specifications, and technical studies.
  • Conduct routine research and analysis to develop recommendations for instrumentation and equipment selection.
  • Understand and adhere to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with the project team by sharing information and design decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
