About the position

The Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer functions as a technical specialist supporting the Food & Beverage and related manufacturing industries. This role will incorporate design execution, oversight of deliverables as well as refining I&C offerings within the market. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design on services and EPC projects. You will coordinate I&C engineering efforts and lead the I&C team for large multi-discipline projects. This includes performing technology evaluation studies, conceptual design, and technical reports. You will interface with clients to understand their needs and develop requirements, attend client, contractor, and vendor meetings, perform field investigations, review vendor packages, witness factory acceptance testing, and help resolve issues during construction. Additionally, you will monitor and control project schedules and budgets, develop I&C standards specific to the Food and Beverage Industry, support business development activities, and assist in proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities. This position is critical as it supports the future of food, beverage, and agriculture, which is rapidly evolving alongside major leaps forward in food technologies. Responsibilities

  • Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design on services and EPC projects.
  • Coordinate I&C engineering efforts and lead I&C team for large multi-discipline projects.
  • Perform technology evaluation studies, conceptual design, and technical reports.
  • Interface with the client to understand needs and develop requirements.
  • Attend client, contractor, and vendor meetings, perform field investigations, review vendor packages, witness factory acceptance testing, and help resolve issues during construction.
  • Monitor and control project schedule and budgets.
  • Develop I&C standards specific to the Food and Beverage Industry.
  • Support business development activities.
  • Support proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities.
  • Support development of scope of services and engineering fee proposals.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design and EPC services.
  • 4+ years' experience in the Food and Beverage industry, including CIP system design.
  • Previous experience with PLC and HMI programming, including field startup and commissioning.
  • Previous experience in designing control panels.
  • Experience in consulting or supporting business development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience or knowledge in design of 480-volt distribution and control wiring.
