FuelCell Energy, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team in Danbury, Connecticut. As a global leader in decarbonizing power and producing hydrogen through our proprietary fuel cell technology, we are on a mission to enable a world powered by clean energy. This position plays a critical role in applying instrumentation and controls engineering principles to design integrated systems that enhance our innovative fuel cell clean power platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming various systems and devices, including the RTAC 3505-3 and RTAC 3530 acSELerator RTAC SEL-5033 software, as well as the SEL3622 security gateway and SEL relays using acSELerator QUICKSET software. In this role, you will create System Change Requests (SCR) and System Test Plans (STP) for plant modifications, modify PLC logic as required, and utilize Moore Industries devices for configuration and installation. You will also work with communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3, and configure interfaces for communication from different devices to PLCs through the Redlion gateway. Your responsibilities will include testing, validation, product launch support, and continuous improvement of our systems. Additionally, you will develop electrical drawings and documentation, including Single Line, Three Line, and Wiring Interconnect Drawings, as well as Electrical Layouts and Instrument Layouts. Troubleshooting and performing root cause investigations will also be a key part of your role, ensuring that our systems operate efficiently and effectively.
